You have to change the profile to silence the ringer. I think that is the case with any OS.Quote:

ya but thats hard to do sometimes. half the time i need to silence it, i need it to shut up now. like other phones ie LG or something. you can just hit any button and it shuts up. i dont always have the time to feel in my pocket to find those buttons. i jsut wanna put my hand in and push the first button i can findQuote:

I'm running .109 sfi & on my phone I can silence the ringer once, without having to push it again to silence the 2nd, 3rd rings, using either the volume up/down, or the ringer silence button on top of the phone, like BB said. I think it must be in the Java, because I'm running .109 sfi on mine, but I have .122 Java, so I'm guessing that's where it's at. I also have "Buzz Me" a free app to make your phone ring & vibrate at the same time, but I don't think this has anything to do with it.
but can you do it when its an mms/sms and you have a custom ringtone....i can silence phone calls no prob. im going to be running the .109 v3.5
