Thread: Best Radio Code

OK, I just tried it..

Before it said V4.7.0.122 ( platform 4.0.0.153 )

Now it says V4.7.0.122 ( platform 4.0.0.136 )

So this means I have .109 installed correct?

I thought the V4.7.0.122 would change to V4.7.0.109 ... if I chose the.109 radio

The numbers are a bit confusing!

1) How are you guys checking your signal strength? Options / status?
Mine reads -100 dBm is this good?

2) Do these radio files have any effect on the 1XEV signal that seems to fluctuate drastically on my phone??

So, which radio files were included in each of the .114 hybrids? I've had problems with v3.5, which is using the .122 sfi, right? I had great success on v3, which was using .113 I think. I don't recall what sfi v1 was using, and I never did load v2. I went straight from .75 to .114 v1 and found instant improvement. Going to v3 was the bomb though. v3.5 hasn't been good to me at all. I've had random reboots and a slow accelerometer.

That is correct platform .136 is the .109 radio code

And .122 is v3.5?

Yes that is correct. v4.7.0.122 (platform 4.0.0.136) means that you are running .122 Java with .109 CDMA (same as me). The sfi (or CDMA) file is what dictates the platform number. (.109 gives you platform 4.0.0.136, .122 sfi give you platform 4.0.0.153, etc.). The Java files dictate the version. example: .113 Java files would give you v4.7.0.113, .122 Java files gives you v4.7.0.122, etc.

I believe
v3.5 has .122 sfi
v3 has .113 sfi
v1 had .109 sfi

Not 100% on that, crackman could tell you for sure

I was thinking the same thing. And maybe a link to download JUST the sfi/CDMA files, so that we don't have to download the whole os & install it, just to get the radio file & then have to deal with uninstalling/removing off our computer. Just a thought

pretty sure signal range is -80 best to -115 worst. so tour rightabout in the middle.

dont quote me on that though... hopefully one of the mods will have a definate answer

For those who are technically oriented, as most BB Users are, and want MORE, here is an approximate tabulation of the # of Bars vs. signal level in dBM:
1 bar ~ -102 to -120 dBM
2 Bars ~ -93 to -101 dBM
3 Bars ~ -87 to -92 dBM
4 Bars ~ -78 to -86 dBM
5 Bars ~ -40 to -77 dBM

I agree .....I tried 109 but went back to 122..seems to work best for me.

I'm really interested to see the Sfi changes, in the next official release.
