What is the 15 dollar charge you are talking about? Is that included in the data package that they require you to buy when you have a BB?
the one thing you do have to watch is with the $15 mbb conect is another 'unlimited' 5 gig on top of your e-mail package they dont spell that out well so when you pay for both you are actually get 10 gig...i think almost 100% on that as i work for vzw. thats the advantage of it but to actually go over 5 gig would take a bit you just have to make sure you have been staying under your tether and your bis combined...
WOW. not a one of you is concerned about running ALL your data through some guy's server? WOW.
Ok now that you have my attention, please explain
Just a heads up about the amount of data you receive through verizon.
I just talked to a Verizon VZaccess Rep and this is what he said:
The title "unlimited" stems from there old network
$29.99 gives you 2GB (basic data plan)
$44.99 gives you 5GB (there tethering data plan )
$1.99 per MB when you go over
So if you only have the basic data plan I would not advise you go over 2GB.
He also stated that they do not offer anymore more than 5GB data package.
I just downloaded the free trial of TetherBerry. I don't have a laptop computer to use it with when away from an internet connection, but I thought about trying to do away with my DSL internet at home to save money. TetherBerry works fine with my home computer, but I found out that with Verizon, I cannot use my computer and talk on the phone at the same time. I may have to go back to AT&T if I want to do that. :irked:
Be careful using Tether for BlackBerry with Verizon. I have heard of multiple cases were people have been charged a lot of money for the data usage they used with that app.
I use tether all the time and its a great app. Perfect because I work in areas where there is not a lot of infrastructure a lot of the time.
BUT
I have no need to.
Most people in Trinidad where I am dont know but if you set up the BlackBerry included tethered modem you can use that here now.
Never used to be the case but it is now...
Tether is now at a ridiculous low price of $16.48 for today only at the BBOS Store. If you are using Verizon you still need to be careful because even though you may have an unlimited data plan, they put a 5GB cap on you. I have used tether very little but it does work when you need it.
