Thread: Best Today Theme?

I was wondering what is the best "Today" theme with the LEAST memory leak?

you are going to get so many different answers as each phone is a little different and while i might not have memory issues with the theme someone else with the exact same setup and apps could see memory issues... gotta love the storm

i am a variation of the Crystal Clear theme which has the hidden today feature.

this is the first theme to keep my memory stable but there are a few on here who say that they are not so lucky as their phones react differently with the theme.

I agree with Laney every theme acts differently on every Strom. I use Crystal Clear as well and never drop below 30 well I am active on my phone. If it sits idol it will drop in the 20's but with a little use it jumps right back up to the 30's or 40's.

I also agree with both laney and bmtenny. However I use dark blue from Rellims with the same results. It just depends on your device

If you're not averse to using an iBerry theme, I can vouch for the Gemblock iBerry Today Plus for 9530. I've tested my memory with it and compared it to the stock theme. There was virtually no difference while running .132 straight and so far the same appears to hold true for straight .148

I have now tried 2 different Today themes and both have had an adverse effect on my memory, i cant believe its that difficult to build something that is stable......

It's not the builders doing it is Plazmic and our phone's. Any theme built with Plazmic will leak to a certain extent, how bad depends on your phone and app combo IMO. Like I said I run Crystal Clear and have no issues but several others do. The theme builders are limited to what they can do with Plazmic

Completely agree. Both themes and Apps are likely in play here. At some point, I believe certain combos (in some cases, even individual themes/apps) can overwhelm the memory management routines of just about any of the OS offered to date. I've seen combinations of constantly OPEN apps and themes which would probably even slow down a reasonably well configured PC! Okay, perhaps I exaggerated...but you get the gist. Bottom line, CLOSE all the apps not being used at the moment. You'll be a much happier camper.

KD.....strong emphasis with those caps....we got your point!!!

But, it's a good idea to make sure the unused apps are properly closed....less stress on battery and memory

i'm using "minimal glow" theme....
its only abt 220K and i haven't noticed any significant memory leaks so far...

I only use Crystal Clear.
I have the red and blue customized GT versions.
Very little memory leakage, fast and professional looking theme.

-iBerry Blocks by JD designs
-BlackberryOS by Natemz (current)
-Pre Berry by Sferical
-Louis Vitton
-Apple Berry

I change them constantly....I can't keep anything permanently

I love appleberry but need to do a batt pull every 12 hours with it.. It doesn't like hybrids very much. Me and Bryan leak like the Titanic with it...

It is... I go back to it every once in a blue.

He's actually working on an appleberry dark version which should be out soon... More professional looking from what he says. I can't wait to see what it looks like.

Appleberry not small? Last time I used installed it was 1.2mb :dead1:
