My first 30 hours: Mini Review
Okay for those of you who are very active here, you saw me post that I played with the S2 in store for half an hour and then declare that I was underwhelemed by the S2. As you know I was able to get the S2 for an even trade for my S1, (Long Story), as a replacement device.
Screen: Okay there really is no way to describe the improvement over the S1. It has been said many times but the peizo technology really refines the click function of the screen. I have fallen in love with this screen. I have not noticed a difference in the brightness of the screen or changes in screen temperature but I do keep my screen at 30% brightness.
Wifi: Nice feature I have connected at my home and my job to the wifi without a hitch. Wifi was not a must have feature for me but I do like it now that I have it. Webpages just load faster and I like not having to go through VZW and RIM to get to the net.
Browser: I am not sure what happened but my browser flies now, it is much quicker at loading pages than the S1. Over Wifi pages load nearly instantly. I do wish the browser was better, it feels dated and with this screen could be better and make surfing more enjoyable. Bottom line - the browser is unchanged.
OS: Version 3.2.0 just runs faster screen rotations are faster, seems snappier. It is very familiar if you ran a leaked os .328.
Okay I will add to this but this is just a one day writeup.
On a side note: The pressing question I get asked is, is it worth the upgrade.
This will depend on your position but, after one day I do not think the phone is worth the full retail price if you are upgrading from a S1. It is better all around than the S1 but I don't think I'm getting a markedly different experience from the S1. The price that I think this is worth the upgrade is 99. I thnk 179 is too much but that is my .02.
