Thread: Questions about Storm 2 and Storm

I got my Storm 2 to replace my Storm and I really like the Storm 2. I would like to sell my Storm on ebay, but would like to unlock it first. Can I still unlock a Storm that is now not activated or would I have to go into the Verizon store or re-activate and get unlock code.

Also, what is the best way to completely wipe all data off the Storm--security wipe then reset to factory settings with either JL or BBSK?

Finally, I will be in the Bahama's next week is there a way to just use a pre-paid phone card in the Bahama's with my Storm 2?

Hey there! Congrats on the S2! In regard to unlocking, I'm not sure. Not exactly my area. Wiping the device with BBSAK and restoring the factory OS will be sufficient for cleaning it.

You don't have to go to the store to do the process. Activate your phone back by going to Cell Phones,Prepaid Cell Phones,Cell Phone Plans - Verizon Wireless, log in and click activate phone. Once you are done, in the original box or storm 2 box, there is a booklet on global support. Call them and request an unlock code. They do want you to be a customer before they will give it out. Also don't tell that you are selling, just say you might travel. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I have a 3rd option for you! Click the link in Olta's and mine signature! Have GSM unlock your phone without connecting to a network. Then when you are in the Bahamas, go to wireless store and purchase a Sim card that works like a phone card! They are cheaper than the stuff you can by in the states.... Wait... I the Bahamas in the US... I always forget! :lmao: Anyway, that works well in Europe and Asia! It is substantially cheaper to buy phone cards and Sim cards out of the US and call in... Than the other way around! :fing02:

Update. Contacted Verizon Global Services and got unlocked with no problems. Put on e-bay and sold in less than two hours.

nice! I'm selling my S1 and i was just trying to get an idea what they were going for...

Mine sold within a day for 189. So they do go nice.

Honestly if I get what i paid for the S2 I'll be happy. I paid 229 with a $100 mail in rebate so if I get $130 I'll be happy...

Another option....if you have adult children, like me, you get the Storm2, and one of them says..."Hey Dad...."

...accessories included!! It's called eDad.

Ya gotta love em....doesn't pay as well.

I only have a dog...last time I checked he doesn't know how to make phone calls so i think I'm safe there LOL
