    Well, what can I say

Apples's exclusive deal with at&t ends this December?
The change has something to do with at&t spoty 3GS coverage, but wait, Apple has anther tight lip item better suited for Verizons current network upgrades, moving much faster then at&t's upgrades?

I only wish at&t would move faster with their 4g, but that wont be noticeable until around 3rd Qtr of 2010? Vz upgrades are underway right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4G is actually the same technology for both companies.

That is true both will be LTE (GSM based) but it does appear that VZW has the lead in getting it rolled out

The subsidy unlock allows the device to accept a Sim from a carrier other then the one it was designed for. When you insert a Sim from AT&T in an unlocked S1 or S2 it connects to AT&Ts data network. The data plan provisions the apn for that network. that's why people have so many problems with AT&T. They have horrable 3g coverage. in cases like this most people are using a vwz device with an AT&T sim and trying to use a non AT&T tower.

Hey guys, thanks for all the replies, but I'm still a little confused. Right now, I have a BB Bold on AT&T with a data plan. It seems that if I put the sim card into an unlocked Storm2, I will only get EDGE? If this is the case, why does the Storm2 has GSM frequencies of 850/900/1800/1900 Mhz? Which I believe 850 and 1900 Mhz are AT&T's 3G?

    Thanks.

Because your Storm is locked to VZW's network by it's IMEI (which is not registered with AT&T). Ultimately, it's impossible, because CDMA carriers don't give out subsidy codes.

    Sorry bud.

If the Storm 2 comes out on AT&T and doesn't support 3G in North America you would be a fool to buy it. 2G is entirely to slow and shouldn't even be supported anymore. The question I have is why would carriers release phones that don't support the latest technology out there. When you buy a phone that doesn't support 3G your just ripping yourself off by paying the same amount as 3G users but not getting the high speeds!
