Thread: Is 10/21 The Real Deal?

Looks like the talk about the "Storm2" being put into the VZW Infomanger page were nothing but rumors until now. briankeith513 courtesy of Tarheelace posted the following picture of the updated VZW Infomanger showing the "Storm2" with a launch date of 10/21/09. Will it really happen?

I still would like it to either a) be free with upgrade or new line like on VF or b) BOGO.

Sorry but I am going to have to say it's not real. According to our inside sources at Big Red, no date nor price has been set yet for release of Storm 2

Under the date it says "Locations will receive elements to promote the launch of the new BlackBerry" which leads me to believe it's just flyers and banners the stores will get on the date, maybe..just maybe...a test phone?, but as for retail I'm gonna go w/ the November 7th date that's floating around...simply because that's my b'day and therefore Nov. 7th just rocks lol.

I have 2 inside source as well, one of them told me today it will happen on the 21, the other one said they don't know yet, I think we are a little to close to 10/21 for a launch date, but we never know....
I would say there is a chance but I think it will be in early November ... We have to wait to see!

I'll put my bet on November release date, not an exactly date but mid November

Yeah I was thinking the same thing just now, they are probably talking about banners and promotional stuff ... But knowing Verizon as I do they never told us about when promotional material will arrive at the stores...

No launch date yet ...

If the info that I posted on the front page from Berryaddicted is correct, it will be November 7th; and if the info is also correct about the TV ad, we should know after Monday night's Yankees game (assuming they give a release date in the ad)

I believe it will be November 7th as well. Berryaddicted.com had a post in there rumors and speculations....Commercials should be shot around the 21st and then an actual release some time in November.....possibly the 7th.

the storm 2 is in vzw locations now. The phone is going to soft launch, meaning they (vzw) are going to start selling it without any formal notification. The stores have been told not to sell it until they have depleted their in-store inventory of the S1.

they havent shipped to stores yet, not been put into inventory so I would have to call total BS on this.. You cant even order it at the store level. SO please if this is true show me the light.

I think we should have a pool set up in the casino, where we can put our money (fake money) on the date and price launch, and whomever hits it splits it.

Just a thought, dont know if its even something BBOS can do in the casino, but it would give us an place to put our fake money where our mouth is lol!

Sorry but this is a very inaccurate depiction of what's going on. The West coast zone which includes California and Nevada ordered 160,000+ Storm 2, none of which have arrived. Even if VZW was going to do a soft launch, which they are not, how can you do so with no product.

The stores have been told nothing. There is no pricing information and no release date at this point.

THIS IS THE REAL DEAL i just came from buying my daughter a phone from my vzw rep in toledo ohio. he said they will be getting a drop shipment of 450 phones next week so that they can sell them on 10/21. this is no lie. he knows i cannot get an upgrade and have to pay full price so he wants to take care of me i have sent him so much business in the last 2.5 years. this is for real guys

actually here in Florida it is 100% accurate, can't reveal my source(s) but it
is factual.

Couldn't this just be a way to spread misinformation. Doesn't this seem convienvent with nearly every other piece of documentation we have seen having said the 21st?
