I don't know if I missed it in a video but has anyone confirmed that the S2 will have a proximity sensor or not?

No, I just remember all the complaints of people muting their calls unintentionally promting apps like StormLock etc. & having the lack of a proximity sensor being a big RIM oversight compared to every other touchscreen phone out. Since I hadn't heard anything about it for the S2 I'm curious if the issue had been addressed.

You don't need a piece of hardware to detect if it's an intentional press or not. The touch area of a cheek is WAY bigger than a finger. In fact, this has been addressed already in one of the S1 updates.

However, the touchscreen on the Storm 2 will be quite a bit more sensitive than the first Storm. So I do see this being an issue as to my knowledge there is no proximity sensor.

I wasn't aware it was fixed with previous OS updates. I tried it and did not mute but as Josh said, the S2 is much more sensitive and from the latest video I've seen, the screen responds to more than one touch at a time. FineWolf's point that the cheek is a larger surface than a finger makes sense that there will not be an issue. I guess we wait & see.
