Thread: Verizon's Internal Blog and the Storm 2!

With all the Storm 2 goodness flying around, it's nice to something from the carrier themselves! This screenshot is said to be from Verizon's own Intranet and shows not only a list of Verizon's pre-loaded applications and memory specs, but a projected launch date of October 21, 2009! For the calendar challenged, that's less than two weeks away! This date falls closely in line with other leaked information from the past few days.

And the call quality comparatives with S/1? There is a lot riding in that intranet missive, but don't see them bragging about it...

Too bad im not due for an upgrade til next november.

Its just too bad a lot of us will be stuck with our storm 1's for a while. Dont get me wrong, I love my storm but I reallllly want a storm 2 Hopefully ill be able to hassle verizon into an early upgrade.

I want it. I want it. I want it, but I am going to wait a few months before I use my upgrade. I did the same thing for the S1 and I got one off of Ebay for $200 b/c of the negative publicity and I love it. I will wait and see what the masses say about the S2 before I take the plunge.

i know this is a stupid question but still,
is there any chance tht we storm1 owners could get the storm 2 for a cheaper price? like a trade in? im with verizon

No... you can get the 2 yr pricing plus a $20 fee after 12 months as long as your price plan is 49.99 higher which means any price plan above 900 (59.99) or the 450 with unlimited text (59.99) or the 450 email plan ($79.99) or the 450 unlimited email+messaging (99.99)

If you are on the 450 (39.99) with ale cart features ($15 txt + 29.99 web+email) then you wait a whole 20 months for it.

As far as getting them to swap it out early. You might want to ask nicely but don't hold your breath. Verizon sold a whole lot of these and if they swapped all of them out for new ones then they would be out of business pretty quick. Also everyone and their brother will be attempting to get this phone swapped out for the 2nd version stating all sorts of reasons as to why they think they are entitled to this swap out. Don't be surprised if Verizon is smart enough to get on the defensive with some damage control but who knows.........

Just don't get upset if the answer is no. Unless you bought the storm in November or December then you knew about the issues or you didn't do your homework. If you did buy the thing on launch day then hopefully you are on a big enough plan that you get the early upgrade thing that they offer.

i have the unlimited email and txt msg plan.
not sure about the price cant really remember
and i bought it in like january of 2009.
would they b nice enough for me to get the new one??

Your best bet is to just go in there and try. You could get lucky.

does the voice and data on selected wifi mean we can actually use it on our home routers

for us folks that bought s1 on the day of launch(11/23 i believe) will we have to wait till 11/23/09 to get our one year upgrade? i'm wondering if they will do their 2 month early upgrade thing on it???

they will probably be dirt cheap,so i'm keeping mine for a backup/antique.

Yes you'll be able to connect to your home network or anywhere they offer WIFI.
