More pictures of Storm 2 and "piezo" techonology

Well it looks like Engadget has gotten their hands dirty. They have recently tore down a Storm 2 to yet again show us the insides. BUT they go into further information/speculation into the "piezoelectric" technology. They are reporting that the four buttons are more sensors then buttons. They are also saying the sensors communicate to the screen when it receives pressure simulating the click that we have all come to love or hate. As always we love to find more and more information for highly anticipated devices!

This technology has been used in Ultrasound equipment for years.

the Piezoelectric effect is the ability to convert mechanical energy (ie touch or sound waves) into electronic energy and vise versa.

We do Ultrasonic testing at my job as well as X-Ray, Magnetic particle, and Liquid Penetrant testing.

They are just applying that technology in a very innovative way and I likey.
