Storm 2 gets naked

Yesterday there was a video posted explaining the Storm 2 Surepress technology. Now we have some pictures of the actual hardware under the screen that make up the Surepress technology. This did not take long since the video was posted yesterday and these images appeared in the Crackberry Forum this morning.

As the above pictures show, the Storm 2 uses the same technology as the Storm 1. However the Storm 2 has 4 buttons that are larger and evenly distributed instead of 1 centered button, as is the case with the Storm 1. What this means is that the Storm 2 has 4 points of contact. This allows for more accurate navigation and multi-press functioning.

It is not exactly clear how the Piezo technology works or is included in the Storm 2, if it is included at all. It is obvious the Storm 2 will react much differently then its predecessor. We do know that the glass will be physically hard.

As the proposed release date for the Storm 2 draws near we will learn more about the new technology that powers the Surepress technology. The next few months will be really exciting leading up to the device release.

The new technology does look amazing. The phones turned off-no clicking of the screen. The phone turns on...and the screen compresses and works as it should. RIM put a lot of effort to improve on Storm 1 and that is just one of the features they have added.

I didn't really care about S2 at all until maybe a week or two ago. Now I'm actually interested in trying it. Hoping it will actually be easy to use and type on (my biggest complaint with the S1).

I can't wait for it. I'm not going to lie but I'm almost ok with not being able till mid nov. (That's when I can upgrade) Hope they can figure out some of the early bugs before I get. Guess I'm just jaded from the original storm launch.

I must be like the only guy who doesnt mind the storm 1 screen.... I dunno if the OS was quick enough to catch up to me then ill be happier... Granted this is an awesome job... but I cant really knock the storm 1...still clicks :) We dont have enough software yet for the precision feature haha... never sit there thinkin darn it i wish this phone would feel my fingers..maybe I got some thin fingers haha...

STORM 2 ! is it a REAL DEAL for us ???????

from my experiences of S1 , when it official released last year everyone was so excited and fancy about it ( included me ) then turn out a month later with awful truth that this phone not a perfect STORM ! damn it..........RIM too...
so much problems for users and a huge dissapointed spread out to all BB forums ...( I bought my STORM with OS 65 and I think it the first official OS)
you know althought it I am still BB fan so my STORM getting more and more better from OS upgrade ... I am on 167 OS now and my STORM (9500) quite OK now ....
for this time I wll much more considering about upgrade to STORM 2 . I hope it wil be realease soon ....just wait and see carefully all people talking about that and then makeup my mind to go for it ........
absolutelly done well all home works on STROM 2 before go for it ...

anyways ! I am still biggest FANs of BLACKBERRY........so dont let me down twice .....and what do you think all nice guys ......

This piezo technology is really neat... i don't know if it has ever been used before like this. It is definitely really interested in it
