I talked with a VZW rep today while i was swapping out my 9530 (3 times today) and asked about the release date of the 9550. His response was, the only thing he could really tell me was that it was coming out around Thanksgiving, no exact date, but around same release date as the 9530's.

Reps, unfortunately, are unable to disclose the upcoming devices. Also, a lot of times, then don't know themselves. I would take their information with a grain of salt.

Nothing against VZW reps but they typically do not when a phone will released until shortly before it comes out. He must be getting his info from BBOS

i had actually asked him about BBOS, and he said he had never heard of it, and had just recently got his storm 3 weeks ago. He also said he has been to crackberry like one time and hadn't browsed around that much. just sayin...

Cool, but the one that you saw, was it CDMA? And did it say both CDMA and wifi in the "About" screen? Or did it say wifi elsewhere?

It says 9550 (CDMA, Wi-Fi). From what I remember.

No it doesn't. It says: (3G, CDMA, Wi-Fi)

a CMDA with wifi and 3G will always display 3G, CDMA and Wi-Fi like C_X has stated.
