"...keeping in mind the very nature of the Storm, the only consistent feature of the device, is that the power dies when you remove the battery."
Just keep in mind, you are seeing the wifi on a GSM blackberry, which GSM berries already have wifi. The CDMA Storm 2's that have been shown don't have wifi. It has been said that that will change upon final release, but I'm not sure why the pre-release models that we've seen, don't have wifi. I'm hoping that newer versions with wifi will be shown soon.
i noticed that so the new bb will be like a hybrid part touch screen and keyboard ..ok a small joke but look at the 8520 screen all one piece like the storm is..reall wish some one would take a good picture with the back cover off like to see whats uns=der there and how the cover is actually attached.
I can't wait to get my hands on one of those. Saving an upgrade just for that phone. I think it will be worth the wait.
Sweet picks indeed. I was wondering about the lack of WiFi on the CDMA test mule as well, but hopefully it was just a early version. I that it was a done deal that Verizon (and Sprint) both stated all BlackBerries after the Tour were to have WiFi built in. Certainly the updated design and memory "could' be enough to motivate new sales but if the 9950 turned out to be sans WiFi then unhappy Storm 1 owners will be fully enraged.
So Verizon, how about October, WiFi and a $100 MIR or some of other early discount.
Great Pics Bryan. I'm with Michael.....November can not come fast enough!

It's confirmed 100% the CDMA version of Storm 2 will have WiFi. The only question that remains is what OS will it be released with, pricing and official release date.

Phone looks great. The Storm 1 is no slouch in the looks dept. but the Storm 2 just looks much more refined and sleeker. From what everyone has said, the new touch screen will be what the first storm should of been. Maybe there won't be as many "non-click" issues with the next model.
Weither it's Full Retail price, or if Verizon offers some sort of "upgrade" for current storm owners, i have to say that I'll have the next one when it's relased.
This is definitely one of my top choices for next new phone...the killer is waiting for it. I will not get a new phone until I am contract free after Christmas and I will most likely switch carriers...too many choices...I want all the toys!
Yes, and the ones that Kevin posted via crackberry a few weeks ago, and all of the other ones posted online. Again, NONE of the CDMA Storm 2's that we've seen online had wifi. This could very well change before the final release. My question, however, is if it's supposed to be there on the final release, why don't these pre-release versions have them? It adds doubt.
great job Bryan. The Storm 2 looks real sick! when it is time to replace my 9530, I was practically guaranteed I would get a physical QWERTY Blackberry, but after seeing this one it looks like I have a very tough decision to make

I talked with a VZW rep today while i was swapping out my 9530 (3 times today) and asked about the release date of the 9550. His response was, the only thing he could really tell me was that it was coming out around Thanksgiving, no exact date, but around same release date as the 9530's.
