Thread: BlackBerry Thunder?

So after the Storm moves over, along comes the Thunder?
Could this be the name of the BlackBerry 9550 (Storm "2")?
This picture sure can make it seem that way!
Here is a screen shot of what looks like Verzion Wireless' screen,
showing under the BlackBerry Storm a "BlackBerry Thunder."
This may be the final name given for the Storm "2."
So what do you all think!? Excited yet!?

That doesn't make sense to me. Considering how RIM has expanded the Curve brand to a bevy of different devices all with the same brand name. It would make sense for RIM to continue calling any Storm variant a Storm. Now I could see them using Thunder as the pre-release code name like have done before for the Storm.

That's true RIM has been known to do that even though Storm 2 is going to be called Odin. Interesting to see what this is all about.

Hmmm....this is really interesting....what happened to Odin?

Odin is still the release name but sometimes RIM uses a different pre-release name (at least they have done so in the past).

If I remeber correctly. The ad from the original was labled as the "Thunder". In the US it became the "Storm". Now maybe they will call the next gen the "Thunder" which will bring it back to it's roots so to speak. As long as it has WIFI and a 5.0 os and the new BBM with more memory then I am all in.

:laugh2: Hilarious! I agree with all similar posts... I don't give a hoot what its called, as long as it launches in a functioning state... that would be greeeaaattt.

I could see how they might change the name to something like Thunder to differentiate from the somewhat poor reputation of the Storm. Time will tell... now how much time??? mfg:
