Thread: Storm 2 (9550) released sooner?

So I was doing some online surfing and came across a couple of interesting tidbits today. There is a rumor floating around that the Storm 2 is releasing September 20th. Now we all know that nothing is set in stone and everything is a rumor until the phone is actually released.

So my question is this:

With the Tour being released and some of you Storm owners thinking of switching, does this newest release date make you think twice?

Since they didn't use my annual upgrade on my Tour, I will be having the S2 on release also. lol

Going to wait at least a month after release, to decide whether to buy it, I'll not make that mistake twice.

I had heard about the storm 2 being released in september weeks ago and didn't want to add in my info because i didn't want to disagree with all the others who seem to be more informed. sometimes people don't like it when you give a different answer then them so i kept quiet

Im glad I didnt spend full price money on the tour. Although I really miss my keyboard, the Tour just wasnt begging me to buy it (yes blackberrys talk to me). Like I was tweeting from the store, it just didnt feel like it had the quality build that the storm and the curve has. I will look very strongly at the new storm when it comes out, maybe it will talk me into getting it.

No, I dont think. I was referring to my Tour purchase debacle. Here Posts 30 and 33

I could wait until Christmas. I hope I don't have to but I will if I need to. The Storm 2 WILL be my next Blackberry.

Totally agree with you, but I have to say the closest date I know is someday in the middle of Nov.
Now B, does the rumor specify which carrier releasing in Sep, CDMA or GSM.

If I go with the coding looks like CDMA.

Yeah Josh I've heard November for a while now. But I came across the same info Bryan did and I know the person who posted it has a good track record IMO. I'm gonna try to confirm the date later on tonight for you guys.

September is only two short months away. Would be nice if the rumors held up.

Couldn't agree more. This year has already flew. Winter will be here before we know it.

doesn't verizon have the same kind of contract with rim that att has with apple.......if so then their couldn't be a gsm one until nov......right........thats what i heard

I don't know if their exclusivity is for the Storm 2. But for everything I have seen there will be a GSM variant of the Storm.

Anyone else confirm this?

yeah well everyone thought that when the second iphone came out that it would be everywhere and it was proved to be wrong....i just heard about it from someone at VZW

well there is a gsm one now it's just not in the US......so there will always be a gsm version

Sorry kids! My sources tell me Nov. Earliest and more like after the first of the year. Bryan where did you get this? I was seeing that exact date like 2 months ago.
