Thread: Storm 2 doesn't turn on!!!!

I have had my blackberry storm 2 9520 for nearly 2 years now and have had no problem with it so far. However, recently when I'm either making a phone call or listening to music, it switches off on FULL charge - the battery doesn't even drain it just switches off!!! Therefore I read other forums where people had the same problem and was told to install the same OS onto it. I did that expecting my blackberry to work again and then the phone dies again. It takes nearly 2 days to charge now and I really need a phone. I have run out of ideas to get it back to work so it's either buying a new battery and if that doesn't work then I would have to spend a lot of money getting it repaired. and that is a lot of money

Hello, this can be a common thing with older smartphones.

Before you take it to a technician, I would see if you could borrow another battery from someone else. Maybe your local cell shop would switch you for one. That way you don't have to spend money to see if it's a battery issue or not.

I would advise if you do have the money, than not to spend it on repairing the device. However, I would spend it on a newer device (Z10 or Q10).

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'm just going to get a new phone, I'm exhausted after using a blackberry and I'm very sure I'm not going near another one again!

I would suggest a Z10 or Q10 if you were going to purchase a new phone. They work really great! I was playing around with the Z10 and it was really neat the way it works!

Wipe it clean and reload Original OS and apps that came with it when you first got it. Try another known good battery and work from there.
