Thread: Storm 2 9550 with Never ending reboot cycle

Greetings,

I have been using a bb 9550 with Verizon ever since it's release with little trouble up till the last several months. The phone started crashing for no good reason during calls or just sending email. At first it would reboot and work just fine for a few days then crash again. Last month when it would crash it would go into a constant reboot mode and keep rebooting till the battery died. The only way to get it back up and running was to hook it to a power source and then insert the battery to reboot. Last week I wiped the phone and re-installed the OS 5.0.0.1015. The phone is still doing this reboot crap.

I called Verizon tech support and they sent me a replacement bb 9550. I am fixing to FedEx the phone back today. This morning while using my new replacement phone during a phone conversation it crashed and went into this very same reboot cycle of battery death. I hope this is a one time burp....

does anyone have any idea what is happening here? I am at a loss why this is occurring.

Hi Jerry, could just be a bad coincidence that your replacement phone is a dud. Otherwise, the only other thing I can think of is if the radio signal is somehow affecting the device and causing it to crash.

Keep us updated on anything new and maybe someone will come around and comment who has had this issue before.

Update: Called tech support back.....replacement phone works fine as long as it is attached to a power source. They have mailed me a battery and I am eager to get my hands on it. I am out of town this week, but will supply this forum with yet another update once I try the battery replacement out. Weird thing is my battery level indicator is nowhere near to dead once it goes into this endless reboot loop.
