We've had multiple users from India like you who have had this problem. The issue I believe is that there are carriers in India that quit supporting this device. I would contact your carrier and find out what exactly is the issue and if they can fix it.
Let us know what happens!

i contacted my carrier here. they told me that the number that i want to use with the phone is old one and it can be used only on Indian phones. they said that they dont support internet services for old nos. And my situation is i have activated in on old no and cant use it.
Thank u for instant reply.
Or else is there any way to change the vendor from Verizon to Vodafone - India or any other options. Please reply I m getting frustrated with this problem.

Please help me out with the problem.
From what I understand on what you have told me is that the problem isn't with the phone it's the fact that your carrier does not support BIS service with certain older numbers. Perhaps RIM and the carrier have done this to keep a select group of phone numbers with the BIS service.
There is no workaround that I know of to bypass the carriers guidelines, but if we hear of anything we will post back here to let you know.
