Oh yeah I hope so also. I think it will be a lot smoother and better if it was actually for a touch device. Just build it from the ground up, just around the Storm 2.

Yes, all the time. I'd say about 95%. If you all only knew.
Currently all of the newer devices have a 5.0 build including the Storm. And this is for reason. They also all have the same core apps, kernel, among other things. Keep in mind that 4.7 was never strictly a touchscreen OS. The purpose of 5.0 is to have a uniform Platform across the entire lineup. Nothing is special.

That makes sense. So with 5.0 RIM decided to make a universal OS that works equally well with both touch screen and non touch screen phones. If so, that is good to hear.

Since you are online... are you aware of any Bluetooth compatibility issues with SFI's in the .14X range? Also, are there multiple cod files that control bluetooth or is it just one?

I hope RIM does a complete revamp of the storm OS that is touchbased like the iphone or palm pre. Probably wont happen with the S2, but eventually. I WANT MORE MULTITOUCH!!

It's been quite a while since I used a build in the .140's. I will check the TKC in a bit and see what notes are published for the .14x bundles.

Thanks much appreciated. My BT volume has been horrible on the SFI's from both .141 and .148. I have tried replacing the BT cod from earlier versions but still no luck. So I'm thinking the problem might be a result of a bug with the SFI file. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Please do Crucial, because if he cries anymore about that Bluetooth bug, we will have to start handing out raincoats with new memberships. lol

I think I am the only one sad to see the click screen go away. I didn't like any other touch screen devices until I felt the click. Even the haptic feedback didn't work for me from other devices. Its also surprising RIM moved away from it to me, didn't they win a big awarded for sure press technology? Don't get me wrong I will pick one up and mess with it and see it it will work for me, but if not.....hello physical keyboard again.

I dont want the click screen to go away. Ill have to go to something with a keyboard HTC Touch Pro 2 maybe....UGH!!! I dont like touch feedback stuff thats on most touchscreens

I'm with you Rellims and beargold23, I can't believe they are getting rid of the surepress technology. I thought that was one of the best parts of the storm. I just don't get it, they finally get something right and decide against it. Hopefully they'll release a OS 5.0 update for the current storm and I can stick with that.

People that played with the phone say that it's SO much nicer and easier to type on storm2!!! I don't think RIM is completely taking it away, they are just changing the technology significantly since the original was causing other issues (big gap, dust, etc)....I can't wait for storm2

you are not alone on this one bro I like the click screen....as civic on CB says: "its clicktastic"

ok this is my question about 5.0.0.xxx series.. if its for all the newer phones.. does that mean they will share screens.. or be able to run the exact same programs? and when theres a leak.. then all of them will be able to use it? .. that sounds crazy..
imagine goin up to a friend with a curve, and havin a storm , and bein able to share stuff ... CRAZY! lol but yea is that the case? lol

No the leaks will be different. You won't be able to run a curve leak on a storm.
