Looks like Inland Cellular has released 5.0.0.983 as official for the 9550. Available from RIM

Did anyone try it? I would like to download...I guess I will be the guinea pig.

This build is more responsive...its faster. Apps load faster...emails..pics...music..it looks the same but its just better. This should be a Verizon OS. Apps load super fast. BB app world was always slow but now I click on it and it opens up almost instant. The same with my ebay app.

It's funny though, we only had the robotic voice in 713 and 895 or something? How does the call quality compare to like .607?

Does this version still have the ability to let you type up to 6 pages in a text message?

nope

Overall I like. Very snappy on most all fronts. But it is not playing nicely with BBM 5.0.0.38. Got to go back to an older version.

It's a newer version of BBM out. That works fine for me. The older BBM's are the ones that had problems.

Forgive my error in not typing out the correct version. This release comes with an older version of BBM that works just fine. But everytime I get the latest from AppWorld it locks up the phone.

Do I need to wipe my Storm 2 and load the new OS or can I just load over present OS.

I am really liking this build so far.

The distorted digital break up on calls seems to be finally gone. The only issue i have seen was when I tried to play certain videos on the phone it would reboot the device. I deleted the two offending videos and will see if it happens any more.

Wiping your device is what I would recommend. Sometimes loading over top works and sometimes there are issues with doing that.

This build seems great, the only issue that I have been having is when putting it into my charging pod, the clock no longer comes up. I have to manually go to it (I have been putting my phone into beside mode overnight). It also blacks out the screen as opposed to just dimming it.

I know this sounds strange but since I have upgraded to 983 I am having trouble syncing with DM 6 (BIS not Exchange server).

Is anyone else experiencing problems in syncing this way with the upgrade?

I got an email about a new DM6 beta, maybe it addresses that issue.
