Thread: Constantly rebooting!!!

My Storm 2 has been rebooting at random times. So far today its done it at least a dozen times... VERY ANNOYING!!! :evil:

I've done a Security Wipe and deleted all third party apps...
Running OS 5.0.0.607

This has just started happening over the last week or so... Had the device for 3 months.

Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated...

Welcome to the boards first of all...

How many of these devices have you had to take back to your carrier to have them replace it?
And my other question would be have you recently downloaded a 3rd party application to your device or have you changed a setting on the device lately?

Haven't changed devices, all of the 3rd party apps I downloaded have been removed.

Looks like you might want to have your carrier replace that device for you.
Sounds like internal hardware issues to me, but then again....other members may want to chime in....
That's my opinion though.
If you do decide to replace it with a warranty device, I would suggest you try to back up your 9550.

Before you do that I would recommend to remove the sd card and using a sdcard reader open you file explorer on a pc and make sure you have hidden files to show up, go to every folder and look for all files with a .dat extension and delete all of these, once done that on every folder you have in the sd card remove the battery on your phone insert the sd card back and see what happens.

If that doesn't work, have you considered a full wipe and OS reload instead of just a security wipe?

thanks for the advice, the device had to be replaced under warranty. I did a full wipe, reloaded the OS and it still randomly rebooted....no problem yet with the new device.
