Thread: Need Help with 9550 browser after upload

Hello,

I have been looking everywhere to find the solution for my problem.

Yesterday, I updated my blackberry storm2 (9550),,,,

since then I cannot use internet or the browser.

Even though my home wifi shows connected the browser does not work....

Is there any ways of installing a fresh copy of OS? while the old copy is not saved at all.

Please advise.

Hello Leo,
So my first question is are you on a data plan with a carrier.
If so, you may need to have your service books sent to your device.

Can you list out exactly the details of your upgrade?
Which carrier are you on and what OS are you currently running?

I have not signed up for data plan....

I have been using the home and office wifi

Till yesterday it was working perfect and then by mistake I updated it...

Now the internet is not working

earlier I had 5.0.0.3(something)

I updated to a little higher version from Blackberry 5.0.0.(something)

since then the home internet and browser is not working.....

Then last night, i downloaded another file 5.0.0.607 from your website and updated...

But still no wifi
The phone says connected but the browser states "unable to connect to the internet Please try again later"

Please tell me how to delete the files and install a fresh copy....

What do you have setup as your default browser?

What carrier are you using? If your using another carrier besides vzw, you need to reload the service books for the browser to work.

Yes Leo,
Hotspot Browser would be the setting that you need the selected.

You would load them via desktop manager, but it depends what carrier you have. since you only use wi-fi setting the browser to hotspot should solve that issue, but if you want to send MMS, you will need your carriers service books.

Never mind, I figured it out....

The update switched off the data plan.... Thats why I was not getting it. But now everything is working.

Can't load service books on the 9550 with the new version 5.0.0.607 installed.... Unless you know a trick I don't know....

But can't install AT&T or T-Mobile with the new UPDATE version 5.0.0.607..
Won't take the service books, and Crack Util doesn't work,and the 4?2? don't work either. So what's the trick to install the Att service books with the new update on the 9550????

the trick is to enable legacy mode then load the service books


aka go to options-> advanced options -> service books -> show keyboard and lock the keyboard to numbers (full keyboard) and type4?3? then side load service books from other carrier.
