Is the PC recognizing the device?
Does the PC map the drives?

It recognized that a BB was plugged in, installed the drivers (never plugged in my BB to this laptop till now) and that's it. No, my laptop is not mapping the drives.

If the PC can see the Device then I suggest BBSAK to wipe device then load an OS.
I know you don't have a backup with you however, your OS has been compromised.
Once a new OS has been installed then you may be able to use the device. When you are able then you could load your backup onto the device.

I agree nothing else for it.
If the laptop hasnt been used before it should ensure a clean install.
I must admit, its at times like that when you need something like SmrtGuard.
(Thanks for letting me win it on your Birthday)

Good luck bro, I will be interested to see how you get on.

Well, I'm back in the US now. Went by the Verizon center and they told me that they could not get into it to wipe it, so they ordered me a new phone...will be here tomorrow. Question: When I get it, do I just do a *228 to get everything working again? Will my number be associated with the new phone?

    Thx,
    Tim

It should be ready for *228 when you get it, provided they registered the phone to your account. There will be instructions included with your replacement device on what to do.

Not sure what the hell happened to mine. I guess my phone didn't like Fandango. LOL
