Bell Launches the BlackBerry Storm2 9550

We've been hearing rumors that Bell could be releasing the 9550 Storm2 to replace the 9530 Storm, which Bell discontinued last month. Those rumors turned out to be true. On Bell's website, today, the Storm2 was indeed available. You can get it for $199.95 with a 3 yr contract, $399.95 with a 2 yr contract, $499.95 with a 1 yr contract, and $549.95 with no contract.

For more information visit Bell Canada website...

Does anyone have any information on Bell's upgrade policy? As it says on the screen shot, I should be able to log in and check my upgrade eligibility but it doesn't indicate anything. Should I presume I'm not eligible for an upgrade.

I would suggest calling Bell, and allow them to give you the "official" policy, and how it pertains to you, personally.

    This is priceless!!

I have been with Bell for several years now, and am classified as a heavy user. I also have my wife's and son's phone through Bell, both blackberrys as well. I enquired about the upgrade policy, was firmly told that I can only upgrade at teh end of my contract. I then asked about the replacement for the 9530 as my screen is scratched fairly bad. I was just as firmly told that the 9530 is no longer available through Bell and that the only replacement bb I could consider was either the new tour or new curve!! Whats with this shit!!!!!!!! If I wanted a curve or tour, I would have purchased them initially. I mentioned that to the rep and all she could say was that those were my only 2 options.

Almost enough to look at Telus as much as I hate the idea!!

I spoke to one of the reps about the upgrade. No hardware credits! Would have to pay full price to upgrade. I pay a fee for hardware replacement every month and I asked the rep what good it is now that they no longer carry the 9530. I was advised that if there was any problems, I could get an 'equivalent' replacement. I didn't think the 9550 would be an 'equivalent' replacement and it sounds like based on your post, I was probably right. Gotta love Canadian carriers.

I hate how Bell and Telus are bias and there is no equality on hardware subsidy pricing. The iPhone gets $500 in discount and the Storm gets $350 discount. WTF! Rogers doesn't carry the storm series but I'm sure they will crush Bell and Telus if they did.
