Thread: Storm, cameraless version

I am looking for some help and maybe some information. I work in a security area that does not allow cameras. I do have the 9550 and would love to either make it cameraless to take it down to work. Is there a way to do it myself and not make it look cheap. Or is there a way to get Blackberry to do it? Any information and help would be great?

Not knowing what requirements your company has I don't know. Do you want a temporary fix, or would you be willing to permanently disable the camera ?

My only thought was painting, or using a permanent black marker over camera lens.

Anyone else ?

It would not mind to me if it is permanently removed and blanked or what. I just want to be able to use my phone down at work.

What about getting a case like the Seido combo? I swear by it. Also will give you the ability to cut a small insert and place it into the camera cutout, completely blocking it.

I would like to try and see about removing the camera and either blanking the hole or if there is a back cover without the camera cutout.

With the case you can find something black and same thickness, 1mm, a common thickness. Cut the insert to fit then glue it in. Permanent, will hardly be noticable, and your not buggering up your storm

They will make me remove my case from time to time. I really dont use my camera, so removing it is not a big issue for me.

Doubt a removable case is gonna get you through security...keyword: removable
