You know, just for the complete hassle I went through to switch everything over to my new phone, I'm going to say the new touch screen is so much better than it was before.
Even if I really can't tell you there is a big difference or not :)
Actually, it does seem better right after a reboot, plus I got a new phone without any scratches on it. :D
So I made the call today... The CS guy I spoke with asked me a few questions about the problem and then asked if I had done the wipe and battery pulls! Obviously I did everything and even changed os's. He then stopped and asked what os I had now, cause other os's found online can corrupt my device. Also vzw encrypts their os's so you can only use theirs on your device. Lmao! I asked if he meant the vendor file! Phone went silent and subject was changed and back to business! I asked about the recall... His response: I don't know what you've been reading, on some blog somewhere, but there is no recall or even a note made about it. I then went through another series of questions to assure him, I knew what I was talking about! Basically he wanted to know I had compared it to another one with no problems. He then agreed to exchange it! Lol! He then told me 4G by this summer and 9650 wasn't even in his radar. But asked me if I was going to grab tbe new slider when it came out. I asked when was that... He said he was hearing around apples release this summer and possibly a vzw Iphone at the same time!!! I left that conversation more confused than if I had ridden the short bus to school!

Just received my refurb screen works perfect no issues!!!
I guess my device is fine for now, maybe i'll swap in a month.
Got mine a couple days ago and the difference is like night and day. The new one is so much better. Nice and light pressure to click and everywhere you can click on the screen is like this. I'm really happy with it.
My replacement 9550...needs replacing, and one will be here Tuesday. Now this issue I have now is separate from the screen issues that RIM fixed...my bottom right "buttons",( end and escape ), went into "rapidfire" mode...push button, and it repeats...fast. This happens very sporadically, and maybe once or twice every day or two. First time it did this was just before I activated it...so not a software issue. I know what y'all are thinking..."Why'd the fool activate it then...??" Still waiting on an answer to that one !!:duh:
Anyway...I get to switch everything around again....second Tuesday in a row. :Eyecrazy:

I do not see a date under the battery
The key is GREEN dot OR date...
Everyone I've heard of has gotten the green dot and no date. I spoke to VZW and was told that the only way you would have a date is if it was manufactured after 2/22/2010. On the sticker with the single bar code...under that bar code...in the middle is a 3 digit code, (mine was E1A), and I had the green dot on the box. If a device was manufactured after 2/22/2010, a 6 digit date DDMMYY would be printed under that same bar code, and NO green dot would be on box.
That's the latest...
So if you have a Green Dot and NO date...you are good to go and you have the upgraded device.

I got my replacement. No date and the thing is still doing the dead spot in the lower left. As soon as this week is over I'm gonna go for another replacement
My first replacement had the green dot and the was 01142010 and yes I sent it back for another one wich has a green dot and a date of 02262010. I found the date on the box itself (refurb) not the device. And yes it is like night and day
