    Storm2 won't connect without Wifi

    Does anyone know why my phone won't connect to data with 3g? It only wants a WiFi connection. I reinstalled my OS and it won't load the items that Verizon pushes. If I try to open the browser, it says I need a WiFi connection. I deleted a program called Smart WiFi and i think it had something to do with it. Does anyone know of a fix for this?

    Do this...open Browser..hit BB key and click on options. Click General Prop. and make sure browser is Internet Browser and NOT hotspot browser. That should fix you right up.

    No, I think it is messed up more than that. I don't even have the Internet browser option in there. It only has Hotspot Browser in there. It is like deleteing that program took away the 3g data option and now I only have WiFi. It is wierd. I thought I read something on here a while back about this problem and someone knew of a fix. I sure can't find it, though.

    i'm actually having the same problem..it won't connet to BES..no bbms...no fb..no internet..anything..its all dwn..onlything i can do is text and make phone calls...
    ATF ...NOW AND FOREVER...

    Some issue with your hybrid install? Have you tried to re-install your OS?

    It's a RIM issue, there have been reports of people on all carriers having the same issues since yesterday. It's not a phone or carrier issue, just a RIM issue.

    I'm back up and running. It took a 45 minute call to RIM for them to get me back up and running. They are not sure what the problem is but they know they have one. Try calling them at 1-877-255-2377 and chose the pay as you go service, they will NOT charge you for this issue, worked for me.

    yes it is a RIM issue..i'm on the phone with their tech support..but its a long wait..they said its an issue many users are having....here is a thought RIM..do a general fix so we don't all have to call in ...just my thoughts..

    I called that number and they want me to call Verizon first so they can give me a work order number. What a crock so I guess I'll call them.

    well not to trying to endorse..but people on crackberry just posted this: OK, I'm on the phone with RIM right now. The way the engineer is explaining it to me, there's an issue with the hand off between Wi-Fi and cellular network pushes. Basically when you go from cellular to Wi-Fi, then try to go back to cellular, the routing gets messed up somehow at the server level and you stop receiving messages. I've been told that they're resetting something on their servers right now, but until the issue is resolved, I won't be able to switch between cellular and Wi-Fi networks and will need to call them each time to reset the server settings back to cellular.

    I have just gone from WiFi to BIS and back to WiFi and back to BIS with no issues.

    lucky you. I can't get any data if I'm not connected to WiFi. This is annoying.

    i'm back in business and i didn't have to pay a dime..the tech said that they are aware of the problem..but can't pin point exactly what the problem is..so they are using time stamps to pin point exactly..and should be completely solved soon...

    After an hour on the phone with Verizon and they could'nt fix the problem they hooked me up with Rim and that guy did a manual unlock of my phone and had me do a battery pull and that fixed it. He fixed it in about five min.
    Oh well, I'm just happy it's working now.
