Mods I am sorry if this is the wrong sub forum I cannot find anything for my question so I am posting in my device sub forum.


okay so I have always wondered if its possible to install applications that are in the rim installer and loader files for a OS

IE texas poker , bejewled, monopoly.

vendor file deleted, now I have pulled up a .alx file in notepad and am wondering is it as easy as replacing the carrier name in this string of code?

then loading loader.exe?



(I am aware that the .alx file is only an extenstion to where the application is actually located so if I just don't actually have these files that answer would make sense)

It's my understanding, that you are right, jad or (alx files for the loader) contain a) location of the files to be installed and b) the information how e.g. app permissions are to be set. I think, it is not working just to wright something, when there are no files supporting it. But what you describe is one of the ways to get apps previously not installed to work on your berry. You could also use BB MCP to directly push them on your berry. After reboot they should be available as well.

basically if you dont have the cod files in the same folder where the axl or jad file is it wont load to the phone

Can someone post links to some cods for me?

Still think I haven't got the full picture. If you have DL .428 already, you can create an alx with an editor as you've described it. Place it in the same folder as the cods are sitting in - that should do the trick. If you do not want to text the cods into an alx manually, try using the Blackberry Master Control Program BB MCP - the how to is described here

you know what, I am an idiot... I found the cods and remembered that BBSAK existed.
