Thread: Got my new S2 yesterday and think its defective

I just got my new S2 in the mail yesterday and when i set everything up on it and it vibes it really sounds like the vibe is loose or something. I mean it is annoying at times but i dont know. Anybody else notice that or should I just go to a Verizon store and have em swap it out for another one? Thanks!

The vibration feature is different that what we were all used to in the Storm1
Takes a bit to get used to.

I would give it some time. You will enjoy this device over the Storm1.

The vibrating is kind of loud, but you get used to it. Sometimes if it is a loose pants pocket I can hear it before I feel it.

I found out what it is. I read that the S2 doesnt have an actual vibrating motor but uses the piezo buttons that are used for the click screen vibrate the phone instead...kinda neat but still the buzzing sound its somewhat annoying lol.... :aargh4:

It is annoying at first. But eventually you will get used to it and its no big deal.

Yeah it is mich louder but in the long run better IMHO.

Yes, it is loud!!! I've only had the S2 for a week. I work for a school, the other night I tried (lol) to change my settings so everything was silent except for phone calls. It was snowing and we would need to either cancel or delay school opening, I had a custom setting for this on the S1, so when the admin was calling me, it wouldn't wake my kids. There were a couple of settings i didn't have on silent and my hubby was about to kill me with this thing going off all night long waking us up! :laugh2:
