    What is SMS Wakeup?

Whenever I back up my 3rd party apps. I notice one called SMS Wakeup. I guess it is part of the OS because I never downloaded it. Anyone know what it is for? Never had it on my Storm1. Never seen it in ShrinkOS as an option to get rid of it or in Apploader.

I think it is related to VZNav, it has the ability to send and receive location specific text messages without the need for outside SMS programs. I'm sure the SMSWakeUp is merely part of this functionality...

Hey I've always wondered that! Whenever I do a batt pull that one asks for permission, I've always said deny, should I be allowing it?!

All I have found so far is that it is a part of VZnav, and it pretty much takes messages from VZW that are intended for VZnav and automatically interprets them without bothering you to manually do it. Its a "push" program.
Have you ever wondered why things intended to make our lives simpler keep getting more complicated to use?

SMS Wake Up allows Veriz0n to "see" what GPS you are using before allowing the VZW Nav Application to work. Draw your own conclusions as to why you might want to disable.

Where did you get that info? there was a previous poster here who was talking about it being for messages to help VZnav work properly is right.
