Thread: App World problem

I just bought an unlocked Storm2 9550 in Australia. I can't seem to access the App World through wi-fi. It just says "device does not support system requirements".

I don't have my Blackberry services activated yet but i tried the following:

1. Connected the phone directly to the App World website through wi-fi
2. Connected the phone to my laptop and tried downloading applications

Both ways failed. Can anyone tell me how to get App World on my phone?

Currently App World is not supported Down Under.
Slowly but surely RIM should bring the availability of App World globally.

I have another question....will the phone work if I am in UK ? Will I have to format the phone before putting in a UK sim so it does not have any Aussi presets in it for the App World to work ?

I do not believe a format will be required. Take this with a grain of salt please.
I have not had to leave the States so I am not experienced in the processes of changing from my exsisting carrier to a SIM provider.
Maybe others will be able to weight in on your question.

As long as your phone is unlocked you should be good to go.

I may be wrong but I don't believe app world will run on wifi. You have to have a connection to the network for it to run. I say this cause I had my service off for about a week and was running my S2 on wifi and app world gave an error message stating it won't run on a wifi connection.

Not true.. It can run on wifi as long as your BIS account is active. So if you had your BB service turned off then no you wouldnt be able to but I am connected via wifi downloading updates now
