Thread: Dimming Issue on Storm2

Can anyone comment on whether the random dimming issue which occurred on Storm1 with the 5.0 os is also an issue on Storm2 - thanks

i have the problem with both storms. i did not see it on my storm 2 untill
i reloaded my programs. i have since wiped and reloaded and it still did it.
even before reloading apps. I am really hoping that a new os helps this.
the problem started with storm 1 after 5.0.

i definately am looking for a solution.

do you have auto dim to off? seems that if you turn it on its able to control the dim to your current lighting conditions better.

My dimming issue started on my Storm1 after I loaded 5.0.
My Storm2 also has the same issue, I assume it's the 5.0 OS.
Also, Auto-Dim is off

Have had my S2 since Wednesday and haven't seen the random dimming issue at all (thankfully). But I did immediately load the Hybrid OS.

I have contacted tech support about this (Verizon) and the rep told me it was a new feature that is hidden. If you put your finger on the screen while you are tipping your phone to landscape mode, it will not dim. Don't click the screen, just rest your finger on the screen.

So, I have tried this and this DOES stop my Storm from dimming.

that is one way to stop it from happening, but its reps like that one that give us all bad names, its not a hidden feature just an oversight IMHO. They would not have purposely made a phone that couldnt dim correctly. And nothing on you soundman just the rep
