Thread: Switch to Storm 2?

For those of you that had the storm and switched to storm 2, what are your thoughts? Good, bad, ugly? Any comments?

LOVING IT! Way better but I am getting a bit bored, I need a leaked OS, haha

Well twice the memory is a huge part for me and anyone who downloads a lot of apps and themes. The typeing is 100 % better . faster , and much easier. And from what I am reading the storm 2 is going to one off only a few phone to be able to use the open GL for better games , videos and lots of other things.

S2 its a way better phone, fast, more memory, better for typing and wifi ... I am LOVING my S2 best phone ever

Don't even think about it, just do it. The S2 is great, the typing is better, more memory and WIFI. Just that alone sold me on it and I don't regret it for a minute.
Now with OpenGL being available soon I'm set.
Get it and you will not regret. My .02

going from the Storm to Storm 2 is a nice upgrade. Storm 2 overall is a better phone. I think you will def enjoy the additional benefits such as better keyboard, wifi, extra memory and so forth.

I think that is a fair statement but if I always have about 25mb of free memory and the vzw network is fast enough to not use wifi and I have refined my typing enough with the new OS, it's better for me not to pay for a new phone and extend my contract two years.

I am going to stick out my S1 if I don't switch to an android based phone if they get one with a multi-touch screen soon.

I can't say enough about the S2, however I will say this rather its a droid or any other phone this is now a solid device and personally I think the S2 is the Blackberry of all Blackberries. but that's just me

Just trying to decide if I should switch when my time is up in December. S1 is working pretty darn good with V10 on it.
Another question. Prolly a dumb one but...
If you have wifi on the phone do you need a data plan? Maybe you could scale it back just for emails...

The short and long of it is Yes, you will not be able to activate a blackberry on vzw without a data plan.

bb's are useless without a data plan.

LOVING MY S2!!!! absolutely love. ready for the next OS update!!!! :-)

Best BB out there. Period. It's what the S1 should have been, and more. Don't even hesitate - get it!

Probably been said lots of times, but the Storm 2 is just way more better!:laugh2:

Don't expect a huge difference in the operation, just expect that everything works and works very well. When you press the screen, it does what it's suppose to do. When you turn, the screen changes. When you turn back, the screen does also. Hardware wise, the thing is pretty much flawless. You'll have some that are picky and will point out certain little things, but overall, this phone rocks.

So far the software has been very good, but then before leaving the S1 behind the software had gotten pretty good and it was a debate on my part if I wanted to go to the S2 (so I know the feelings you're having).

Am I glad I made the move? Certainly. I show the darn thing off all the time and people look at me and the phone and say things like, "That thing doesn't act like I've been told, it's a great looking phone." Big change over the S1.

At one time I had the notion to go back to a keyboard phone, but then I thought I'd miss the screen size. So what I decided was to buy the Storm2 and check it out over the 30 day period and if I didn't like it or it didn't seem like it was that much of a difference, I'd take it back. The only problem was, I love it, so I've still got it and it's been a little over the 30 day period, like I got it the second day it was out, so that's close,,,,,right?

Anyway, try it on for 30 days and if you don't like it, take it back. My guess is you'll love it.

My 2cents worth. :cool2:

It is a far better phone and while it still has issues at times (Video Causes Phone To Lock); it actually works and is now (IMO) a respectable smart phone.
