yes intending to buy the Blackberry Priv , shame about the name , the large touch screen and slide out keyboard offer both options and it appears to have a large battery, will Blackberry use vanilla Android with a few Blackberry features added to it ?, a Blackberry Launcher with the feel of BB10 could be an option for those who would prefer a BB10 version available from play store to download if required,
with access to full Google services and the large choice of apps that will work every time it could be a success, just waiting for the price for an unlocked version and release date,
I am looking forward to buying a new Blackberry as my first one a Z10 is now getting on for three years old and it has been totally reliable, exciting times back then in January 2013 when BB10 arrived and now it is looking like BB10 my be reaching end of life and Android will be the future of Blackberry, I look forward to reading about owners thoughts and experiences using the Priv.

The Priv will will be a unique Android device as each on will have it's own PIN. No other Android phone has this and it adds a layer of security. As well, BlackBerry plans on installing other safeguards and services to make the BlackBerry Priv the most secure Android device on the market. The Google Play store will be available and all apps will work as this will be a full Android system.

Before considering the purchase, I was wondering if all the apps I've bought in BlackBerry Wolrd for BB10 w port over to the Priv. When I moved from my Bold to my Q10 there were a ton of apps I had bought that no longer could be used. This I really disappointing me. I know BlackBerry needs to survive but I does also need to respect it's loyal customers.

Hi Christopher! I doubt any BB10 apps will be able to used on the Android system as they would need to be modified to work. However, I'm sure BB will have some sort of compensation for those looking to move over to the Android powered BlackBerry. As well, most apps are free on Android. So you may benefit in the long run.

Thanks ver much, Joe! I'm crossing my fingers that you're right and BlackBerry will make a special effort.

I'm wondering if BlackBerry will offer the PRIV with an BB10 OS option (or newest BB OS). The entire reason I went to BB for a smartphone is because I despise the lack of security and lack of privacy in Android and iOSx.

They will not be offering a BB10 option. From what I can gather, it looks like if the Priv is a success, there will be no more new BB10 devices. Only Android powered BlackBerrys.
