Thread: Playbookk Future???

I have owned the playbook for 2 years & though I love it, I am very disappointed that there has been little advancements in the Operation System & especially email. I have made many suggestions on improvement opportunity, and no advancement in features have occurred. I thought that V10 would bring in some additional features & enable access to many of the Android Apps that have advanced its competition. But I'm not sure I can wait much longer. If I don't see something soon I'm about to make the very costly decision to jump ship. Am I just not patient enough? Is it really going to be worth waiting for?

It is. We should see the Blackberry 10 OS come to the PlayBook within the next few months.

to its present state, ( at that rate we will be to old to use them) mines two years old approx and its the best 7" tablet still available (just ) although discontinued, if Blackberry support it with a few updates as needed flash support, i would be happy with it even if it never receives BB10 update, the delays, is the hardware not up to running BB10 to an acceptable standard?, if so Blackberry should inform all playbook owners, we have had a good run of updates almost two years, Android tablets( apart from Google Nexus) whats an update?,time for Blackberry to say update by this date? or sorry it not happening, they will receive more respect if they keep customers informed, and they cannot afford to loose
any loyal ones,

Let BlackBerry get the Q10 out of the gate, and then we can talk about the PlayBook. There's a lot going on in the new OS and I don't necessarily think that the PlayBook isn't up to the task - but BB10 does need some modification to work nicely on the PlayBook after being designed for a phone device.

I am not sure what I can't do on the PlayBook. I am happy with it's performance and what it offers me today. When and if it gets updated, it will be like getting a new toy. I understand that it doesn't cut it for a lot of people, but, for me it gets my email, plays music and video, is my ereader and web browser. I post on twitter, Facebook and buy and sell on ebay and craigslist. I am sure I don't run it through it's paces like some of you do, but, I bridge with BlackBerry and use for everything except burning dvd 's, load programs, etc. For that I have a computer.

The uncertainty on the PlayBook"s future is just that.......I took a long look at the availability, the drop in price (unit and accessories), lack of advertisment....so on and so on......hummmm, I'm wondering also. GLAD I have one . There going to have to pry it from my cold dead hands, but not without a fight

Playbook has certainly stolen the show. Especially after the prices have been clashed down..it has become the coolest and the most premium tablet on the block within its range. It's camera is just brilliant which is capable of HD recording and the dual speakers are just music to ears.

I have owned the playbook for just over a year now and I do like it. However I do question Blackberry's commitment to PB owners. The fact that there hasn't been any announcement this week about the upgrade it doesn't give any hope.

As a UK owner, I feel that blackberry's PB strategy is ... non existent. I am looking for months now to buy the original BB PB keyboard but was sold out on the official website and there is now where else you can buy it. The keyboard had very good reviews but it seems that it has been discontinued. What BB was thinking?

There is no video store for PB owners in UK, either.

I will not be surprised if BB will announce that the support for PB will be discontinued soon.
