At one point, Skype did work on the Playbook. Using the Android app was possible, until Microsoft blocked the Playbook from utilizing the service. Netflix and Hulu have done the same dirty trick. Its not that the Playbook is incapable of using these services, and RIM does not have any control over the problem.
