    Camera and Video apps dont work after 2.1 update

    I get an error message when I try to take a picture with my PB ever since I did the 2.1 update. Error.4003 picture is what I get when I take the picture and I never see anything except a blank screen Chat works fine btw. Anyone else?

    Have you tried to reboot your PlayBook to see if that helps?

    Make sure you back up your PlayBook it may be time for an OS reload.

    Yes I have rebooted, numerous times. How do you do an OS reload? I do back up frequently.

    If you have done a back up go ahead and perform a security wipe. To perform a security wipe of the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, complete the following:


    1. Swipe down from the top bezel or select the Settings icon.
    2. Tap Security > Security Wipe.
    3. Enter the word blackberry to confirm the Security Wipe.
    4. Tap Wipe Data.

    Not sure how a security swipe will re-install the OS plus if all the apps and data are swiped and I have to go to a backup to restore who is to say that the problem will not just re-install from the back up? I assume that I am going to use a back up from before 2.1 and then upgrade again?

    Correct. If you do a security wipe first then you can see how the PlayBook is acting on a fresh OS without any extra apps. If its still acting we can try the debrick method.

    Ok, security swipe and OS reinstall did nothing. How do you "debrick"?
