If you did not purchase and extended warranty, your PlayBook's warranty is good for one year after your purchase date. Additional details about the warranty can be found here:

You can contact support regarding returning the defective device here:
PlayBook Support - Contact Support - US
You can try doing a Hard Reset. Press and hold the UP volume button without letting go press and hold the Down volume button and also without letting go of those buttons press the power button for 5 seconds. Hopefully works.
I was going to ask where the OP is located to give contact information for their location, but, I am guessing that the mod's can figure that out. :D To the OP, you could try a stack charge on the PlayBook, plug it in for 2 minutes, unplug for 2 minutes, do this 5 or 6 times and that may reset the charging cycle. RIM may have you try this or you could do a debrick (hoping you have a backup ). It goes like this : open desktop manager on your computer, wait for it to fully open, then with the PlayBook off, plug in to your computer with the USB cable and when/if you get the prompt, select update and let the system prompt you from there. If that works for you, you can then restore your back up. If not, then a call to customer support is next. Hope this helps. Cheers
Great info fellas, thanks for helping the community. (y)
Who you callin' a fella? :D
Haha, I thought "fellas" is gender neutral when speaking about both genders. Like "guys" is. You use the masculine. :)
Plus, I don't know any guys named, Lucy.
