I've noticed the space bar often does not respond to presses, so I end up with a bunched-up words when typing.
Not sure if it's a sensitivity issue, or if the spacebar just has a small footprint.
Any help would be most appreciated.

I'm assuming you are talking about the keyboard on the PlayBook? If so, have you tried to reboot your tablet first to see if that helps? Also, when did this start happening? After a OS upgrade or app installed?

Thanks for getting back with me. I noticed this even before updating to the OS beta. It seems to happen across apps. I've rebooted, to no effect.
Not sure if it's user error, as I get used to the smaller 7" keyboard size. Have you heard about this issue at all, or is this the first time? Thanks.

How long have you had your PlayBook for?
I used to have the same issue with certain keys. It may just be user error. Try exaggerating the space bar push a bit lower on the space button. I think I had the same issue and it seemed to work out now.
