I can't seem to find an answer to your question unfortunately. Maybe someone will come along that can help
I looked at my BlackBerry PlayBook Contacts, and this is what I see after touching the Help button regarding Deleting Contacts.
Nothing about bulk deleting contacts, but if I find a way or another member has a solution, I will update this thread as soon as possible.
Thank you.

Thanks both. I had followed Joe's route but drew a blank too unfortunately.
Don't know if this will work but why not delete your whole gmail account from your playbook and then start fresh and re-add it?
I was going to suggest that also, but bigmig69 may be correct here, I don't see why not.
rafiki, go to Accounts, remove the account from your PlayBook, look for your Gmail contacts, if they have been deleted then re-attempt to add your Gmail account.
Let us know the outcome.
Thank you.
It sorted itself out actually. I think what happened was I deleted all my contacts in Gmail on my PC. Then, I guess it syncd with the Playbook. I then restored the contacts on the PC from the last good backup and it syncd again with the Playbook. Suddenly all was good again!
