By now you probably have noticed that your browser on your recently updated PlayBook is responding & loading much quicker than before. This is due to many updates to RIM's web platform, more specifically HTML5.

Adam Stanley, a Web Platform specialist with the BlackBerry Developer Relations Team recently poste a side-by-side video showings us just how significant these changes are between OS 1.0 & OS 2.0

These HTML5 tests you'll see in this video include:

Rubiks HTML5 canvas, by Remy Sharp

That's an amazing difference. And I already loved the browser in OS 1.8.

I did a little writeup in my blog Fine Oils. There are some more materials on Playbook's HTML5 benchmarking in my blog, so please have a look and help to spread the truth around.

Yep, the PlayBook is superior in HTML5. The best tablet for dollar on the market for sure.

Heh! In HTML5, it's best tablet, period! In other words, no amount of money can buy you other tablet that performs better in HTML5. Hopefully RIM QNX team will upgrade their JavaScript V8 engine soon, so the browser in next OS 2.0 beta will be BEST overall.

Another reason why I love the BlackBerry PlayBook, the browser's hardware accelerated engine is far more superior than any other competitor's tablet - hands down.

Exactly! Have a look at my story in my blog about how in HTML5 Playbook beats Qualcomm's Krait that is not even in production yet.

Man, I am in the minority here. I have found that the browser on my PB is the biggest pile of crap I have ever used - I hate it. There has been numerous times that the browser has just stopped functioning and completely closed up for no reason. Really pisses me off too when I have to go and find the pages that I had open in the 5 or so tabs. I'm prolly going to end up selling the thing.

Sorry to hear that bro, I've always had great experiences with the PB's browser. I've even tried Android tablets and the iPad, and I like the PB better. Having great Flash integration is awesome too.
