Thread: Problems with Kobo app since upgrade to OS2 on Feb. 21, 2012

I updated the software no problem, but now when i try to read my books on Kobo, each time I try to turn to page or anything else, such as changing the settings, i get the following error message:

Touchend:not enough arguments

Does anyone have any suggestions or hints on what I can do? I have deleted and then reinstalled the app, and that hasn't helped.

Hey guys so we're looking into the problem right now but it seems the issue isn't too common so no one has figured out what the problem is. Have you guys tried deleting the app and reinstalling it?

Yes. That didn't change anything.

after spending 3 hours on the phone last night with blackberry support and then RIM support, the only thing they could come up with that i hadn't tried - deleting and reinstalling kobo app, rebooting the playbook, ensuring the software had fully updated - was to reinstall completely the OS via the desktop manager which completely wiped everything from my playbook. I did that today and now my kobo works, but i also had to spend 30 + minutes reinstalling and sorting all my apps again. Well... at least it works. Then i also backed up the playbook in case there is a next time... sigh!

hope this helps, it's a pain in the tush, but it seems to be the only thing that will help those who have tried everything else.

Thanks for the feedback. Good to see you got it working. Sounds like the software got jumbled and couldn't run the app. Which is why re-installing did the trick.

I updated my playbook to the new OS in July and have had troubles using Kobo ever since - it keeps hanging whenever I open it. Every once in a while it does work all of a sudden - but most of the time it doesn't. I uninstalled and re-installed and it works for a bit - but then goes away again. Not sure if this is a Kobo issue, a playbook issue, if the update of the OS was coincidental... just wish it would work like it did before again. Checked on the internet - found that there were issues around this in 2011 and 2010 - but nobody seems to have the issue now or they are not saying on line. Read somewhere that multiple bookmarks can mess things up and deleted those out of my old reads. Maybe that will help and keep this last install going... Anybody out there having the same troubles? Know what to do?

I purchased the playbook to read ebooks. Kobo appeared to be the biggest load of rubbish. I have purchased for £1.00 the 'Book Reader for EPUB and Kindle books'. It's impressive, almost as good as Aldiko in Android. If you need books converting then use Calibre on your PC and place in any folder on the Blackberry. The reader will locate it and you can install.
