I have personally tested out many applications coming from Android, which were originally made for the Android platform, and may not be fully optimized for the BlackBerry PlayBook.... yet.
In one case, as recently as this morning, a friend of mine bricked his PlayBook by side loading an Android application into his PlayBook, and he had to wipe/de-brick his PlayBook all over again.
