Is there a way to get my Outlook contacts and Calendar to Playbook?

If you have a Microsoft Exchange account you can easily do this. However if you do not you have to use something like google sync. What type of email account do you have?

It's a pop3 account.

Browzing the interwebs, it doesn't appear that it's readily done, a terrible oversite by RIM if you ask me.

Most mobile devices to not sync contacts when not connected to an Exchange account. Since your on POP3 you need to use a third party app to get that done. One of the apps that people are using is Contact Sync. I have not testing it myself so I am not sure how it will work for you.

I imported my outook contacts into google contacts and then added my google account to my playbook. You can't sync that way, but at least they're there. I thought about using Contact Sync but have heard it had some problems. As far as the calendar goes, I sync my outlook calender with google calendar using Google Calendar Sync (it's free). If your google account is added to the Playbook it will show up in the native calendar app. That way you can keep the calerdars synced.
