Bridge Browser Icon Missing Explanation
It seems as though there are quite a few people that were wondering about why their Bridge Browser icon was missing. Please know that this is by design. If your BlackBerry device is not associated with a BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) you will not see the Bridge Browser icon on your BlackBerry PlayBook.
The icon will show up if your device is connected to a BES account, this will allow you to browse your corporate intranet securely.
Here is some further information taken from RIM's KB29992
Quote:
This is by design as the native Browser provides the same functionality when bridged, therefore making the Bridge Browser redundant.
The Bridge Browser is present when connected to a BlackBerry smartphone associated with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server in order to allow browsing corporate intra-net.
Please see article KB29992 for more information. I hope this clears up some things.
