A very interesting read. Thank you. 1991 it says and just PC but if memory serves that was probably DOS still. Anyone remember editing files using the DOS editor Edlin? Ah, brings back memories of Compuserve, the original social networking system... Ahem, sorry mods; very much off topic

Apparently, someone or an organization has ported the game over to the BlackBerry PlayBook successfully, and it works perfectly via the PlayBook's WiFi connection.

Once I get some more details, I will post it here for you asap.
Thanks. Yolanda has a smile from ear to ear she's emailing her sister as I type.

    That's great to hear rafiki.

I promised I would keep you posted if I heard anything about Word Feud

I will post screen shots here later on once I get it installed, and test it out for everyone.

The ability to run Android apps on the PlayBook was designed to be as seamless as possible for end users. In other words end users shouldn't need to be concerned about whether it is an Android app or not. They embedded the Android run time code into the PlayBook operating system. Due to this it will be based on a specific version of Android. Also due to this and the way it interacts with the PB OS there will be some Android apps that won't work unless they are "ported" using the Android porting tools provided by RIm and then submitted to App World. This actually a good thing rather than giving access to the Android Market where users would not only encounter some of the pitfalls of the Android Market, but also prevents the negative experience of downloading an app that doesn't work. It is a good thing in another way as well. I will give an example:

I recently downloaded an app from App World called AndShare. It uses the PB's GPS to find your location and allow you to send the location via email or other service. Now when I ran it I noticed two things. First it found my location in seconds and when I clicked on share, it offered me two options, Wordpress (also an Android app from App World) and the PB native messaging app. This is only possible by porting the app through RIM's developer tools because it requires access to the hardware (GPS) and to the native messaging app. This all has to be done through the PB OS. Without proper developer tools for this an app from a different OS won't be able to have that access.

Hopefully this explains the the interaction of the two platforms in and easy to understand manner.
