Thread: Charging playbook via ipad usb charger

hi guys, i have looked around for a thread that talks about this , but did not find it, but in case i missed it, mods dnt bite ma head off, lol.

okay that being said, my PB charger is not charging, i have ordered another one, but in the meantime while waiting, i have an ipad usb charger delivering 5V=2A, which is same as RIM PB high capacity chargers. so question is, is it safe to charge with ipad charger, has anyone tried it, what was the result...

The general consensus is that you can, but as usual you always want to stick with that stock charger. Really the big thing is that you do not want to supply a higher voltage than the stock charger has. Anything less will take a longer time to charge anything more has the potential to burn out your device.

ya, but they both 5v, okay to be specific, BB PB charger is 5V, but ipad is 5.1 V, so assuming the .1 V is insignificant

Yes I have heard that people have used it with no problems but you never know.
