Thread: Official BlackBerry Bluetooth Mini Keyboard For PlayBook Coming Soon

We mentioned late last year that RIM would be releasing an official Bluetooth keyboard for the BlackBerry PlayBook. Our sources mentioned that it would be released around the same time OS 2.0 would be released. Recently more information on this accessory has surfaced and it looks promising. Here are some details on the features:

• Both a keyboard and a touchpad
• Can last up to 30 days on a charge
• Comes with a case that folds over your PlayBook
• Multitouch touchpad with one finger left click and two finger right click (for remote desktop apps)
• Mouse scrolling with two fingers on the touchpad
• Charges via MicroUSB

There have been quite a few Bluetooth keyboard's and mouse's that have come out for the PlayBook, but most have been less than stellar in functionality, as they are constantly disconnecting and lagging when typing. Let's hope this one from RIM will address those issues.

This is something that I have been looking for since I got my PlayBook. I traveled in Europe for 3 weeks and felt that a good keyboard with a mouse pad would speed up my emails. Now the only thing is still missing is the ability to attach a local data stick so that I can run on the cellular system. In Eurpoe you can pick up a data stick for about 20 euros and the service is cheap compared to North America.

I am going to buy this asap when it comes out.
