Installing Blackberry Beta Access - for a newbie?

Ok, 2nd post of the day and the guys so far have been brilliant in there responses.

I love the playbook and can see the potential in it but i am clueless when it comes to much other than surfing the web. I have seen it documented that we can install and run android apps by installing the above at:

    https://bdsc.webapps.blackberry.com/...et20/register/

But, i need your guys help in answering these few simple questions:

1 - is it safe to use if you have no previous experience, i.e. will i invalidate my warranty if it goes wrong?

2 - indeed by installing the programme am i opening myself up to viruses?

3 - what apps do you all suggest as "must haves"

Sorry if i sound naive (i guess i am!), i have wanted this for a long time and just want to make the most of it!

    Thanks in advance.

    Jim

Well you definitely got some good questions so far so keep them coming... My suggestion would be to stay away from the Beta 2.0 on the PlayBook until 1.) a more stable/usable version comes out and/or 2.) u gain a little more experience on how to downgrade and do other PlayBook related things in case you do not like the usability of 2.0

Certain things like video chat do not work on 2.0 yet so it's better to wait for the official 2.0 version to be released as you could potentially encounter some serious problems along the way.

I will take your advice on board. Maybe i want to do too much too soon? At the end of the day i want to use my PB for entertainment as i have a laptop to do all my day to day bits and pieces. But if there was something that i "had" to do to make the experience even better then i would make the most of it.

Yeah that makes sense and to be completely honest if it wasn't such a potentially damaging procedure I'd tell u to go ahead with it but the risks outweigh the rewards for now...
